I recently purchased this phone from a bricks and mortar seller and found the set-up process to mostly straightforward. The voice quality is very good and the high-contrast, lighted display and large buttons are easy to use. I think some of the menu system is not as simple as it could be, but for many users this will be of small concern. Also, configuring the first handset appears to propagate the most essential settings (Time and Date, etc.) to the other handsets automatically. This system is well-conceived. I owned a Panasonic cordless phone in the past, and this new phone feels familiar, which is a good thing; the old phone was excellent too. I do notice that the speakerphone max volume is not as loud as with the old phone, but with 3 handsets provided with this product, you won't need room-filling speakerphone volume. In non-speakerphone mode, the handset volume seems loud enough for all but the faintest phone calls, and there is a handy volume control right where your index finger holds the phone. The answer system is intuitive to use and does exactly what you want. One thing I not right away, however is the light weight of the base and the handsets. In fact, the base would benefit from more mass to reduce the chance of getting knocked over. Putting the handset into the cradle is mostly simple, but it does the charging system does feel a bit cheap, for lack of a better term. Thankfully, the handsets run off two AAA batteries of Ni-MH type. Since replacements are easy to obtain at a reasonable price, Panasonic has taken a step forward from the days where you had to buy a special battery pack. Finally, the call blocking system is as simple as can be. When a spammer calls, you just lift the handset and push one button; the call is then blocked. Since the caller ID information comes right after the first ring, you will need to configure the handset to eliminate the first ring of each call in order to not hear spam calls ring at all. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product.
