Amazing quality and value
I will be totally honest and tell you upfront l was sent these pencils to try, l will also tell you honestly upfront that before l was sent them l told them that there was no way l would ever say a product was good if it wasn't. I am a colored pencil artist and it matters to me that if l recommend a product l am actually happy to use it. I normally use the best brands in the world, so l wasn't expecting too much from pencils at such an affordable price (these are similar in price to Prismacolors). I created a piece for Instagram using only these pencils (l didn't even sharpen the edges with my trusty Polychromos). The most amazing thing about these pencils is the vibrancy of the color. They are almost as creamy as Prismacolor pencils but the lead is slightly harder, so much better for detail. They blend and layer better than Prismacolor and leave no dust. Yes, l would love more colors (but that is true of every set l own!) and l really hope that they will be lightfast tested at some point. I didn't get any nasty build up as l layered. They sharpened beautifully and held their point well. I was stunned that such a beautiful pencil could be bought for such a small price. Niggles include the color on the barrel not matching the core color well and it would be nice to have color names, but these are really minor and it takes five minutes to make a color chart. To anyone wanting to try out color pencil as a medium, to all the coloring enthusiasts and to hobby artists l would say don't hesitate to add these to your collection (and l am not being paid to say this). I love these pencils.
