I was extremely hesitant about purchasing these bottles because so many of the reviews were written by people who received this item for free / huge discount for their unbiased reviews. I really needed something quick so I decided to risk it. Here is my truly unbiased review because I actually spent my own money on it. If you are looking for bottles like these, you'll undoubtedly have come across the Chef's Star Glass water Bottle 6 Pack 18oz Stainless Steel Caps with Carrying Loops and the Epica 18-Oz. Glass Beverage Bottles, Set of 6. These two are the most economical and popular (you get 6 for around $20). If you read the critical reviews of these bottles, the complaints are about the lids (plastic portion falling out) or the quality of the bottles. I was willing to pay a bit extra for quality and found a few that were bit pricier but they also had issues with the lids falling apart or strong chemical smell from the lids. The reviews for these bottles were overwhelmingly positive and did not mention the issues I read about with the other bottles. However, like I stated before, I was extremely weary of these reviews because they were reviews written in exchange for receiving the bottles for free / discount. I am happy to report that this bottle seems to have none of those issues. 1. The glass is thick and strong. 2. The cap so far hasn't fallen apart on me, does not smell, and is leak proof. 3. And it's nice being tell how much fluid is in the bottle because of the measurement marks. It is a bit more expensive than the cheaper options, but if hassle free and peace of mind are what you are looking for, then I recommend this product. If I experience issues with the cap in the future, I will be sure to update this review. Update 4/29/2016: Still going strong! Lids are still intact and leak free. The bottles are still in pristine condition. Update 5/3/2016: I've managed to create hairline cracks on both bottles! The bottles seem pretty strong, but be careful not to bang them against EACH OTHER. I'm pretty sure I would have cracked any other bottles if I banged them against each other. So this was completely my fault.
