THANK YOU, whoever you are, for making this foam topper. It's so effective, it's life-altering. I have sciatica and take epidural injections for pain every few months. Even on that regimen, the pain can be debilitating Then, I read that a too-hard mattress can be the culprit. My husband loves our hard mattress, so replacing it wasn't an immediate option. I decided to try this gel topper in a twin size on my side of the bed, and I'm getting the best sleep of my life. I'm no longer waking sporadically through the night, uncomfortably trying to find a new position to ease the aches. Now, I sleep deeply until morning and am sorry to get out of bed. I can sleep on my back and both sides now--no pain. Without the stress to my back all night, the sciatica is gradually calming during the day. I'm nearly back to my old self, and with the help of a back brace, I can do nearly everything again. Also, I was worried that having a foam topper was going to have me sweating through the night, but this one doesn't do that. There is some weird cooling element to it that actually seems to work pretty well. The pad has a strange, cool texture to it. Also, neither my husband nor I have noticed an odor, and we're both hypersensitive to that kind of thing. Now, I did air the pad for a full day in the sunshine before making the bed with it, but there has been no smell at all. I'm so grateful to be getting my busy life back. I intend to recommend this pad to lots of peopel. Update: This is amazing. Less than a month after purchasing this pad, I now have ZERO back pain and only an occasional "strain" feeling in the nerve leading to my knee if I walk more than an hour.. I sit for a little, and it, too, disappears.. I am back to gardening, riding my horse, taking walks, anything I want. I no longer take any pain medication at all. It's miraculous; I have my life back!!! And no, I wasn't paid or compensated for this review. I refuse all of those offers.
