Why I love this heater
1. Do not underestimate the importance of having a thermostat on a heater. I am a mr. Heater fan and have the big buddy and little buddy but you have to be right there to turn it down if it gets too warm. Having the thermostat is great and saves on fuel because it shuts off when it's warm enough. There is a very nice feature no matter where the thermostat is set that when it approaches the turn off temperature the flame will reduce to about half so I assume it goes from 20000 to 10000 BTU which is going to save fuel. I do not like the range of the thermostat. I have never used it above 1 and heat a 36-foot travel trailer in 30 degree weather. Although it may not be recommended you can tweak the thermostat between pilot and number one and get a range out of it where it will still cycle in the temperature range around 55 to 60. 2. Believe what other people say about the 90 degree adapter that comes with it. I thought well they just don't know how to thread it carefully and I do. I carefully screwed it on barely fingertight and tried to unscrew it and it wouldn't budge. Let me emphasize don't even try it. I ended up not needing one anyway. 3. This has a nice window to look at the nice blue flame. This type of heaters job is to heat the air and it does that great except the Heat and the air goes straight up. If you expect to sit in front of it and feel the nice warmth you will be disappointed. What you will feel is the cool air on the floor returning to the heater to be heated and thrust upward. If you want the radiant direct feel of the warmth soaking into your clothing and feeling cozy you need a heater like the mr. Buddy. 5. Pay attention to the measurements. The photos gave me the impression that the unit was much smaller. 6. I do not notice a bad propane smell. I'm sure there's some but it doesn't bother me. I feel good that I'm getting a hundred percent efficiency versus a vented furnace such as the one installed in the trailer where so much of the heat goes out the vent on the side. I am not at all concerned about leaving it on while I sleep unlike most people. Remember these units only produce water and carbon dioxide the same thing you exhale from your lungs. Unless there is an incomplete burning issue you will not get carbon monoxide the poisonous gas. I also feel like I can trust the oxygen sensor to turn off the unit before a lack of oxygen turns me off, again I'm probably unique in my opinions. For the water buildup on the windows I use a sponge and a squeegee and then ring out the sponge and have the water go down the drain. I had this lame brainstorm idea that I would use a Shop-Vac to suck off the moisture and yes it did work but the sponge and squeegee method is much easier. 7. Pet Friendly.. When I used the Buddy radiatant heater I had to worry about their fur touching hot surface and have singed tales, BUT this heater is actually cool all around because all the heat goes straight up to heat the room.
