Coffee a Brazilian Would Be Proud Of
We've had a Keurig for a number of years, and I honestly thought it was the best system for getting an affordable cup of coffee that there was. I was totally wrong. I had seen the Ninja Coffee Bar commercials but I thought that, like most infomercials, they were trying to sell something that simply wasn't anywhere near as good as they made it out to be. But when they claim that this makes one of the best cups of coffee you've ever had, they're right!! I have no idea how this machine works so well, but it is amazing. We recently returned from a vacation where we met a Brazilian couple who told us that American coffee is "dirty water". After having coffee from this machine I completely understand what we were missing out on! It's delicious! PROS: - Delicious coffee. What do you buy a coffee maker for? Delicious coffee. This maker has delivered on every cup of coffee we've tried making so far, and we even bust open a few "iced tea" k-cups for the Keurig and, using the "brew over ice" feature, managed to make a number of delicious cups of iced tea - my son said it was far better than the Keurig version that the K-cups were made for! - Multiple sizes of coffee. We've made all of the sizes, from the carafe to the single cup, and if you follow the directions with how much grounds to put into the filter, the coffee always comes out tasting amazing, no matter what size you want. - Multiple strengths. My husband likes his coffee a bit strong. I prefer mine light. With this maker I'm able to use a breakfast blend, brew normal for me and then brew stronger for him on the next batch to get two cups of coffee, in less than 5 minutes, that are made for both of our tastes. - Reusable filter. I've had reusable filters before with my old coffee makers but nothing like this one. You can tell it's high quality from the second you hold it. I don't foresee ever having to use a paper filter. - Looks amazing. Style counts for something, right? This maker definitely looks fantastic sitting on the counter. - Milk frother. It's actually way better than I thought it would be! My children even made hot cocoa and used the frother to make some milk to put on top of the cocoa, then added a bit of cocoa powder to make an amazing looking hot chocolate! CONS: - Size. Either I have lower cabinets or this simply isn't designed to fit under cabinets, I'm not 100% sure which, but I know it's about a half an inch too tall to fit under my cabinets. But that's honestly not that big of a deal for me because the coffee is so good that I have no problem giving it a place of honor on our counter! If, however, space is an issue then I would recommend checking the dimensions carefully before ordering. VERDICT: My husband was extremely skeptic when we got this after he saw the price. Then I made him a travel mug of coffee. He sipped it. Then he sipped again. Then again. He then looked at me and said, "I get it...freaking a that's good coffee" then wandered off to watch his hockey game. If Mr. Cheapskate approves of it, it has to be worth it!! I love showing off our coffee bar to anyone who comes over and can't wait to experiment more with different coffees!
