Super easy to use smartphone. This review has detailed PRO and Cons regarding this phone.
This phone I recently bought in a store near my home. Because I am a super picky phone person and a techie type, I fully tested this phone and wanted to write this detailed review to help you learn about this phone and note that this phone is a true 4G/LTE fast phone....ideal for basic needs.
I have used a HUGE 5.5 Samsung J7 that is wonderful but much too large, this 4.5 inch phone I find just perfect for travel and it is so easy to use. For you the reader, my goal here is to give you everyday and practical uses regarding this phone.
PROS:
+ Phone runs very, very cool. Never has overheated (battery or CPU).
After the news stories of certain phones that overheated or caught on fire?, I am so happy this phone runs cool...I am delighted that this phone is SAFE. So tested it Battery Solo Free Battery App. It is usually at 80 degrees Fahrenheit never goes above 91 degrees even when I am heavy duty using this phone and after I charge overnight with Samsung Charger it us at 76 degrees...very cool.
I wanted a cool running phone that was safe. I like this phone so much for this reason!
+ Battery Life - Very good. In fact, I have gotten a day of battery use (I turn off WiFi when I am off the internet or email etc). However, I run my brightness at 100%. So on an average day, I get at least a full day with about 15 percent left and then I charge it overnight.
+ Screen Resolution - Good...not the best but the screen is clear and colors bright. The colors are vivid and the fonts, icons are very clear. Even though this is a smaller phone at a 4.5 inch screen, when I view pages on the internet, the text is clear and pictures very clear and colorful!
And the screen is so clear that I can read PDF books and see the pages without my glasses!
+ Marshmallow 6.01 Experience/ Speed and Performance of this phone - So glad that I purchased this phone so it is very up to date and running vey smoothly.
I have found this phone to 've very peppy and smooth...no last or freezing ever even with several apps open (I listened to TuneIn Internet Radio all day while checking emails, using Twitter and Facebook...it ran flawlessly..
+ WiFi Connecting/Speed of WiFi - The strongest WiFi yet of any phone that I have owned, and I really am serious! This phone has Very, very fast connect and it keeps the connection without anything problems. In fact in the back of my home (the furthest from my router), I still get 4.5 bars of WiFi signal on this phone! This I tested using my home router and on the go at many hotspots with WiFi. Other hotspots: No problems at all connecting and staying connected on these. And I found the speed still high at home with several devices connected at the same time to the router, and there is no loss in speed.
+ External SD Card Information - This phone will accepts Microsoft SD cards up to 256 GB. I installed my 64GB SanDisk SD card and it works great. I placed my Music and my personal files on it and still have over episode GB left.
+ Internet & Webpage & Video Viewing - The Chrome browser does a great job, however, I use regular Internet Browser with great internet viewing results and it renders webpages quite quickly for me.
+ Office Program with the phone - Found it to be OK, but I went to the Playstore and installed WPS Office (free in Playstote) which lets me edit, save, view in MS Office types and also view PDF files).
+ I print from this phone using the Premium PrinterShare app from Playstore and my new Wireless HP 4500 Printer.
To print I do this: I press the SHARE BUTTON it looks like this <. Then I select PrinterSharw. Then I select my HP 4500 WiFi Printer. (I installed my printer directly to my wireless router and no cables).
+ Music Player - This phone comes with Google Play Music, however I have an approach called Pulsar + from the Playstore that I prefer to use at it installed and I like it OK. It does plays music from folders that is stored on my external SD card nicely and saves new Playlists so easily. I have already created my playlists on it and the sound from this player is superb!
+ Home Videos - The stock video player is OK and plays MOST home videos, however, may I suggest QQ Player (Free App from Playstore and the ONLY one I recommend as it plays every home video I tried).
+ LTE / 4G ... Yes, I have really fast data with this phone. Just as fast as my higher end Samsung J7 phone!
+ Bluetooth Speed and Performance - The Bluetooth paired quickly with several devices and copied files at a great rate of speed.
+ Peppy and fast - Found the response on this phone to be very peppy and fast, no lagging ever!
+ Micro USB Port...this phone does not have the newer C port so you can use your old MICRO charters. I am happy about this.
+ Removable and replaceable battery...yes!
CONS:
- Just a 5MP Camera. However, I took pictures outside and they were pretty good pictures. However, if you want higher end pictures, then I suggest that you use your regular camera for the best picture taking situations. However, to test this camera, I took several outdoor shots as well as a few indoor shots (in bright lighting) and to my amazement, the pictures looked OK, and good enough to email and keep, yet I will be taking my regular digital camera for more serious camera shots.
-
- Very Low internal storage (advertised at 8.0 GB but just 3.5 GB left for adding personal apps after OS and factory apps. (but I kind of solved it by not adding apps I did not need).
I added Facebook (500 megs), Twitter, (81 MB) WPS Office (132 megs), Storage Space App (11 megs), 2 Weather Apps over 35 megs), eBay App, (20 MB), Tune In Radio App (20 MB), Amazon Music (121MB), Pulsar + (48MB), QQ Player (18GB), and PrinterShare (21MB) and I still have One half of a GB (550 MB left on my internal space!
- NO OTG - This phone will not work with an OTG Adapter with flash drive and other USB devices. This is not a problem as I send pictures toy email account, use the cloud or Bluetooth share.
Should you consider this phone YES IF:
1 You just add the basic apps and not any large games.
I still have the huge apps I installed as Facebook, Twitter, TuneIn Radio and more (see my above list).
2 You watch the amount of apps you place on it. (Just install the apps you need is my advice to you and you will do OK).
3 You realize that this is a very basic phone (yet it performs very well).
4 You want this phone because it is a bit smaller than the other very huge phones of today and also because of the VERY LOW COST.
Why you SHOULD NOT consider this phone:
1 You love to install lots of games and apps...this phone does not have enough internal space for this. Look for a higher end phone with 16gb or an even higher internal storage.
2 You want OTG ability. This phone has Micro USB port yet does not have OTG ability.
Bottom line: Would I buy this phone over again? Yes, I certainly would buy this phone again because it is the exact size that I wanted (it fits into my skinny jeans pockets and into my very small purses), very easy to use, good battery life, as well as simple to hold and operate. *** The ONLY REASON I gave thus phone 4 stars and not 5 stars us the VERY LOW INTERNAL STOTAGE SPACE. Hiwever, if you are looking for a easy to use and low cost Android smartphone that has really great battery life, let me suggest this phone to you. Also, since I am a techie person, I will be happy to answer any questions you may have through the comment section.
