Suggestion for bottom surface of safety rail for use on tile or other hard surfaces
I purchased this for my wife following hip replacement surgery. We have ADA height elongated toilets so I did not want a commode. I was concerned about the reports of no rubber feet on the bottom. We have tile floors in our bathrooms. I placed strips of 1 inch wide double-sided foam permanent mounting tape on the bottom of the leg supports. I then cut strips of grip shelf liner and pressed it into the foam mounting tape. I trimmed off the excess shelf liner. See uploaded photos.
The safety rail is very sturdy and does not move when pressure is applied while using it. My wife felt safe using it. It did not feel like it would slip.
One thing to note: the base extends on the floor about three inches out from the front of the toilet. My wife has to lift the walker over this but it is not difficult. If there was more room in the bathroom she is using this would not be an issue.
