This is an extraordinary and compelling volume, essentially an extended essay which can be read in 1-2 sittings on the warning signs of creeping authoritarianism. Timothy Snyder (Professor of History at Yale University) presents moments of history, current events, and analysis as well as strategies for dealing with "alternative facts" and "magical thinking."
