Amazing product!
The RIF-6 is an amazing product. It is an extremely small, mobile projector. It is very capable and worth the money for anyone in the market for such a product. The instructions say that the RIF-6 does not offer a charge as you play feature. Thus the battery must be charged in order to use the device. However, the battery is impressive for the amount of power this device has and its small size. After charging the unit overnight, I found that the battery lasted approximately 90 minutes. I also found that I could run it while plugged in in order to extend the battery life. The RIF-6 comes with four cables. It also comes with a small, bare bones, but adequate remote. An innovative mount that tightens onto opposing corners of the RIF-6 is also included. This mount screws onto a standard tripod mount. There is a tripod included as well. It is a short, fully flexible design that can be used to “grab” onto objects. The feet also have magnets to add to the variety of places it can be setup. The RIF-6 mount will screw onto any standard tripod as well if this does not fit your needs I tested this projector on screens from about 20” all the way to 190”. For the size, it puts out an amazing picture. Once screen size hits about 100” it begins to degrade. After this point, the picture darkens and details are harder to see. Though I did power through a Game of Thrones episode at about 150”. Optimum screen size appears to be less than about 100”, but further testing (and a better eye than mine) would be required. As with most projectors, it is very sensitive to ambient light. You have to be sure to use this in a dark room. Sound was probably the most disappointing feature on the RIF-6. There is a very small speaker on the device. The sound quality is low to medium and the volume does not get very loud. There is, however a headphone jack where you can plug in another speaker or headphones. I tested the RIF-6 with an Xbox 360, an Xbox One, a Blu-ray player, and a Dell Laptop. All of these devices worked flawlessly through the included HDMI cable. I purchased a micro HDMI to HDMI (female) adapter and tested it with a ROKU. Again, the RIF-6 gave flawless performance. The RIF-6 is an excellent mobile projector. From one who travels a lot, this is my newest addition to my standard travel gear. The possibilities for this device are limitless. There are some issues (sound, focus wheel, lack of a “charge while you play” feature, and inability to check battery status from media view mode) but it’s small size, intuitiveness, and portability makes up for these problems. Given the travel focus of this product, I would like to see a specialized travel case to protect my new investment. I was unable to find one online, so I took it to local stores to find a case. I found one that will work, but something designed specifically for the RIF-6 would be better.
