So I live in a 1-bedroom apartment that is about 600 square feet total. I got this unit and I have it in my living room near the central air vents so it can really work. Apartment living can be stinky. Some of my neighbors smoke. Some aren't great cooks and burn things. But that doesn't really matter anymore. In the one week that I've had it set up in my living room I have noticed fresher smelling air. My apartment never smells stale. This unit is LARGE but not particularly heavy. I didn't want mine sitting on the carpeted floor so I have it up on top of an end table. It's 30 inches tall before placing it on the table so when I walk up to it, it is as tall as I am. There are three settings and low is fairly quiet but high is pretty noisy. I have it set to the medium setting which seems to filter the air through my apartment pretty easily so I'm happy with it. The outside blue portion that you see in pictures is an optional additional filter that grabs the bigger particles and helps the interior of the unit function better. It's actually a tube-top kind of sleeve and comes in both blue and black. The sleeve is washable so I figure when the blue one gets dirty enough to wash I'll put the black one one the unit. I've added a video - it's about a minute long and I've got the lights off so you can see the lights on the unit and hear how loud it gets. That was another nice thing. The button doesn't turn or anything - you just tap it to change the settings. Super easy.
