I realized four days before flying with my 16 pound cockapoo that the airline crate I had was too tall for southwest; so I ordered this one. I really wanted the expansion sides so that I could give her more room after take off. The crate DID fit under the seat, although make sure you pick a MIDDLE seat (there will not be enough room under the window or aisle seat.) My dog was content in the crate for over five hours, which was the longest flight. The only thing I didn't like about the crate is that the zippers require a little patience. But on the whole, the crate did the job and allowed me to do two cross-country flights with my "on the large side" dog!
