I first saw this type of building set in a children's museum. It's a great toy that can provide hours of creative play! My granddaughter received her first magnetic building set (the Magna-Tiles brand) a few months ago and she enjoyed building with them so much that I bought an additional set. I ordered the Picasso Tiles because they seemed good price for the quantity of pieces. From what I can see he main difference between the two brands is that Magna-Tiles by Constructive Playthings uses metal rivets to secure the two sides of each piece where the Picasso tiles are sealed with glue. I think this extra step is why the Magna-Tiles are more expensive. The two brands are completely compatible. Now my granddaughter has plenty of pieces for building her creations!
