I recently switched my diet to include more fresh fruit and vegetables but found that my fresh bought organic goodies were going bad in only a few days. The price was reasonable and I wanted something that would extend the life of all my fresh foods rather than buy one container for each food item. That just felt like a lot of money spent with no guarantee of reward. You can easily cut the drawer liners to fit whatever size you need but I left them as is. I figured it wouldn't hurt anything to have them extend up the sides of my drawers. I honestly don't know if that is right or wrong since there really weren't clear instructions included. I also don't know if these things have a shelf life. Kinda like baking soda in the fridge? Are you supposed to change them out every 90 days? I'll have to research that or I guess I can replace them if my food is not holding its normal shelf life. I am extremely impressed with the quality of this product. It is a very simple design and fits easily into your crisper bins. Honestly, it just looks like a piece of green foam, but they have extended the shelf life of my fresh fruits and vegetables from 3 - 5 days to 7 - 9. I've actually forgotten that I have asparagus in the crisper and discovered it two weeks later still very much fresh and crispy!! After purchasing this product, I did some research into food preservation and took further steps in extending the shelf life. For example, you don't want to store your greens, such as kale, next to apples, bananas, or tomatoes, and you can keep asparagus fresh for over two weeks just by wrapping it in aluminum foil.
