I purchased the Pet Playpen so my cats can travel with me and stay safely in a hotel room. I set up the playpen at home after it arrived, so everyone could get used to it. The attached picture shows my adult cats checking out their new digs, with the door flaps open on both sides of the enclosure. There's plenty of room inside for 2-3 adult cats with a litter box. All my cats are older, and get along well in a confined space. I definitely recommend cat owners considering this product give their cats plenty of time (days/weeks) to get used to the playpen at home, enclose daily them for short periods of time, and supervise them closely. Once the cats and the owner are comfortable with the enclosure, then it's time to travel.
