Ok, so 5 stars, maybe 4.8? Time to get rid of that KVM *UPDATE* READ THIS
Excellent product for what it does...allows me to share up to 4 devices via USB between 2 computers. If you are like me and have been using a KVM switch with PS2 ports, but have a monitor with multiple inputs, like DVI - Display port, HDMI, VGA - you can ditch the KVM, use the monitor to switch inputs and use this USB switch for your mouse and keyboard. I usually leave one PC on 24/7 and the other gets turned on when needed. I have found that if you need to switch inputs to a computer that is not started, it's best to switch to that input then start the PC. The only negative I have found so far is that the button for switching inputs sticks, so I pried the case a little to relieve pressure around the button. No sticking. I am using this with a Corsair keyboard and a Wireless Logitech mouse...product works great. *UPDATE* 5/9/17 YOU NEED THIS... If you read all the reviews, there are people complaining about either...1 - the switch is SLOWWWWWW, or 2 - it only works well if it is plugged into a powered computer all the time. SOLUTION - there is a DC in 5v on the front. There is a reason for this...POWER! When you put a 5v power adapter in it, it works just fine and doesn't need to be connected to a powered on PC all the time, and it isn't slow to switch. I used an old Motorola charging brick. Works GREAT and I leave it plugged in all the time. (we are talking about for the past 3 years!!) *UPDATE #2* I can't believe I have had this same switch since 2014. This is now 2020...thats 6 years of 24/7 use. Not one single issue. I have also kept it powered the whole time by the same old Motorola phone charger. Wow. How many items like this last 6 years of constant use? *UPDATE #3* Well, guess what? Its now 2022 and this is still going strong, used EVERYDAY. Not one glitch. This means this has worked for...ahem....8 years. WOW. It has survived use on several computer upgrades and still going strong. Just buy one. Love the fact that you don't need to press a switch button on the device with the long lead for the switcher.
