We bought one of these about two years ago. About 6 months ago, a tiny plastic part, inside the larger beater hole, which snaps the left beater into place, broke off and fell out of the hole. Beaters no longer would snap into that hole. We could use only 1 beater. I posted a request for advice here on Amazon, and was advised to contact the manufacturer. I went to Cuisinart's website, found their "contact us" page, and sent them an email describing the problem. A few days later, someone wrote back, asking for the serial number of the mixer. I sent it to them, and they said the mixer was still under the 3-year limited warranty, so I should just send it to them and they would send me a new one. I did, and they did. So now I have a new one -- different color, but that's OK -- and am happily mixing again. It would have been better if that tiny part had not broken, but it did and they resolved it in a good way.
