I absolutely love this case. Purchasing the iphone 5 was easy, but finding a case that satisfied my OCD turned out to be quite a challenge. I tried the Otterbox Defender, and Armor. Too many issues to keep. Tried Lifeproof, but it was way overpriced and handicapped some of the best features of the phone. Tried Belkin Sheer Grip TPU case. It wasn't bad, but I didn't feel it offered enough impact protection. Tried a couple Speck cases, but found them to be more hype than substance. So I was looking through a shooting forum ( yes, I support the 2nd amendment, and all the other ones for that matter) and came across a thread recommending this case. I was familiar with Magpul for being a high quality firearms accessory manufacturer, but had no idea they made cases for the iPhone. First thing I did was search Amazon. Sure enough they offered it, and it was eligible for prime shipping. I saw it had excellent reviews, and it was only $12.56, so I pulled the trigger with cautious optimism. The case arrived on time and was packaged nicely. Upon removing it from its packaging my initial impression was very good. It did not feel like a regular TPU case. It had a very good "grippy" feel. Not like the silicone "dust magnet" cases, but more along the lines of the texture of a Line-Ex or Rhino Liner spray on bed liner for a pick-up truck bed. I installed it on the phone and was very impressed by the snug, precise fit. The openings for the Lighting port, speakers, headphone jack and mute switch lined up perfectly. The volume and lock buttons are covered, but work very well with a nice texture to them. The one thing that may be an issue for some is the lighting port is a little small and there may be some issues making aftermarket connecters fit. I have a Belkin cable that fits a little snug. The case gives the phone a very solid, feel with plenty of grip, but it does not get stuck in your pockets or collect lint. There is a nice raised lip around the screen to protect the screen from drops or laying face down on a flat surface. I have not dropped the phone, nor due I plan to, but i feel it would provide decent drop protection. It does not come with a screen protector, which I don't have a problem with, because it seems as most included screen protectors that I have experienced have not been of very good quality. I use the Tech Armor screen protector, which is another great product, also available through Amazon. To sum it all up, I have found probably the best all around case that provides good to great protection, without making the phone huge, or handicapping some of the functions of the phone. I was able to purchase the case and a 3-pack of screen protectors through Amazon for under $20.00. Its tough to find a good iPhone case for that price. This is the first time in a long time that I have purchased a product from any company that the quality has far exceeded the cost of the product, and the best part is that its made in America, by Americans, by an American company!
