I recently discovered the supposed pain relief properties of amber and wanted to try purchasing some of the products for my baby. I almost didn't buy this because of the other reviews complaining of chemical odors... But I'm glad I did! It smells nothing like chemicals, however it does smell strongly of NATURAL RUBBER! I put the toy in my mouth right out of the box and despite the rubber smell it had no flavor, chemical or otherwise. A wash in dawn soap followed by a rinse in drinking water made the the smell almost completely vanish. I am so sorry for the seller, people are returning this product just because they don't know what natural rubber smells like!!! This toy is one of my baby's new favorites, she gets so excited when she sees it. I don't know it it gives her pain relief but she loves to chew on it. Five stars.
