This falls into the odd category of "why did I get this?" For $10, it has solid construction. A good handle, a great blade, even a small ruler on the bottom of the blade. The knock on the star isn't for lack of quality compared to price, I assure you that. The problem is that it's been sitting around for a while now without any use. My family, we cook. We bake. I come home to salmon picatta, rattatouile, homemade pizza, fresh made antipasta salad... I try to bake cookies, or bread, or cake at least once a week. My wife is the chef, and I am the sous and the baker. We know our way around an amateur home kitchen, we have the hardware to boot, and we love using our hands to make our family and friends yummy victuals. So with that in mind... I thought I would use this as, well, a chopper and a scraper. That has not come to pass. In fact, I haven't found a use for it yet that a knife, pizza cutter (roller or straight), hands, or other tool doesn't do just as well. Bottom line: get this is you know you need it, pass if you don't know precisely what you'll use it for.
