I bought scale this mainly because of the bowl. Most scales have a flat top that may or may not be detachable for cleaning. Using the bowl, you can measure things that are liquid, lumpy, or gooey and not have to worry about leakage. It was set to zero right out of the box, but adjustments are simple and easy. I appreciate the fact that the bowl is not attached and can be thrown in the dishwasher. We are very pleased with this purchase.
