I've made champagne sorbet, vanilla ice cream, chocolate ice cream, and coffee gelato. All were delicious and it's made very quickly. I agree with other reviewers that it's very loud. But it makes damn good ice cream, gelato, and sorbet. Some tips for optimal use: 1) Definitely freeze the inner container before using, and even then, it's better if you put the product in the freezer after making it but before eating it. You can eat it immediately after it's made, but better to freeze a bit. 2) The timer is a nice addition on the higher-end model, but probably not worth the extra cost. If you wait 15-20 min while it's doing it's magic, you will hear the beeps and know when to stop it. I made the mistake of stepping outside while it was making the vanilla, and it ran too long. You could burn out the motor that way. It didn't burn out, but it was struggling and ice cream was going over the sides when I came back inside. Just be nearby to turn it off, and all will work fine.
