I had a problem with small flying insects (smaller than flies) coming in my kittie door. Aside from being everywhere in the living room, kitchenette, and study, the insects wound up in droves in the cat water fountain. I am not talking on or two in the water, but a heck of a lot more. I received the unit 2-weeks ago. As it happened, I changed the water on the same day as I plugged in the unit, as I recall. The marketing information did mention that there is about a 3-day delay before the problem subsides. As such, the 2 or 3 insects in the water might be from that period. I did NOT deduct for that. As you can see, after 2-weeks the water bowl is quite free of insects. I am pleased. I would like a future model to incorporate a wall mount options. The video shows an empty, where the unit plugs into the wall outlet and the entire room is unobstructed. Every wall in my home has something. There are no free power outlets that are not covered by some furniture, so I had to resort to placing the unit facing upwards (I would prefer horizontal or downwards) on top of the television. The flying things in the study still exist, but then the marketing material clearly stated that each room must have its own unit, so no deduction there. In fact, the problem is a lot less. I presume the insects still fly in from the kittie door. Time will tell. Overall the product definitely helped the situation. For that, I give 5-stars. The 4-stars, as I said, is that the video should show a room with furniture, not an empty room, and the unit should have a wall mount option.
