One ring for sweets, another for savory foods
I bought this silicone ring to use as a second ring for my IP DUO-60 pressure cooker. I use the original ring for savory dishes, giving it a 24-hr vinegar soak about once a month. I use this ring for sweets like cheesecake and neutral foods like oatmeal when i want to make sure that no off odors get into the food. I don't mind swapping out the rings because it's so easy to do, taking about 30 seconds.
Side note - I cooked 3 pounds of sliced russets for mashed potatoes a couple of nights ago using my 'savory food' ring and the ring emerged completely odor free while imparting no off odors to the potatoes. Who knew that potatoes were an odor remover?
