Two thumbs up for this Giant Beanbag of Sloth
I am old. But I like to stay cool, funky fresh, yo diggity stylin' like the kids do on the intrawebs with their googles and pokeballs. So when I saw these giant beanbags all over the internet, I forgot I was 48, and suffering from the delusion that I was 21 still, I ordered it instead of a couch for my TV loft.
I ordered the six footer. It arrived in a box marked 66 pounds. After getting it up the stairs by myself and reading the instructions, I was at first dismayed that I didn't find an inner liner. I bought this brand on purpose because I wanted an inner liner for the foam pieces so the cover would be easy to take off and launder. But my annoyance was short-lived as I realized the foam pieces were already in a liner and vacuum sealed.
I waited the two days for the foam pieces to fully inflate, and my patience paid off. The hard part was pulling apart the foam pieces inside the bag - would have been nice to have had help with that and I still have lumps two weeks later but that's OK. I suggest having people over with big and strong hands to assist you with this task.
It is big - I put a queen size fitted sheet over it and it fits very well. Keeps the cover from getting all dogged up with my St. Bernard.
It shocks me that people are surprised it's big - what do you expect with a six foot round beanbag that tends to ooze out across your floor like a morphing sack of wet play dough? Of course it takes up a lot of room. It's a giant cloud of bliss and hugs that makes up for the love your mother never gave you as a child, and that kind of payoff is going to cost you some real estate.
It is harder to maneuver than I imagined, and when laying in it it goes flatter than I thought (but bounces right back when you get out of it and fluff it.) You do sink very close to the floor when laying on this thing, so if you want something that will sit you up even half as high as a sofa, this is not the thing.
The Giant Beanbag of Sloth reminded me I was 48 and not 21 the first time I tried to get out of it. Remember when you were young and could just get up off of the floor as if gravity didn't apply to you? This beanbag will remind you that those days are gone. Either develop the ability to roll out of it like a turtle getting itself up from being on its back, put a harness on your dog to assist in pulling you out of it, or have the fire dept on speed dial to extricate you.
I was going to get so much done this weekend, but I underestimated the Power of the Beanbag (TM). It developed its own gravitational pull and sucked me and my 135 pound dog right into it (room for one more - bring beer). We were powerless against its forces! And I have a strong suspicion that the Giant Beanbag of Sloth is going to join forces with Netflix and keep us sucked in it all day today too! Don't send help.
