I did not buy this to roast meat in or do anything other than bake bread. It works extremely well for that purpose. I use the lid as the bottom to place my proofed dough on and use the "bottom" as the lid to cover the loaf. EXCELLENT bread baker. **Pro Tip** there is enough room inside that I can place a small stainless container in it with 2-3 ice cubes in it alongside the baking dough. This creates steam and gives your bread a boost in rising and an extra crispy crust. Just like a commercial oven.
