My Hopkins quit working in the middle of the day. Frustrating. After several weeks of trying to check for any loose or damaged wires, and finding no damaged wires or connections, I gave up. Bought another brand at NAPA because I needed one.As I was removing the Hopkins, I decided to remove the small screws from the back of the large rectangular "box" that sits behind the tag. I expected it to be electronics "potted" in some type of protectant sealantIt seemed to be sealed pretty well, UNTIL it came apart..., and found that it was full of water, and corroded electronics! No "potting" material or sealant at all! I couldn't have gotten another drop of water in there!! Water & electronics just don't like to get along. What's up with that Hopkins??? If you buy one, seal the $%#+ out the top of the unit to prevent water intrusion!
