Just finished testing this out for painting my kitchen cabinets. It goes on beautifully and sands smoothly, just as you would expect from any top quality chalk paint. What's more, there's absolutely no odor. I'm very sensitive to many chemicals, but I had no issues with this paint. While waxing is the most common way to finish chalk paint, I used very fine sandpaper to smooth the surface, then topped this with Rust-Oleum Varathane No-Odor Indoor Polyurethane, which gave me the smooth, easily cleaned surface I was looking for. I'll post some photos when I'm done! ******** Photos show beat up cabinet before, sink area after the first coat, and the same beat up cabinet after. I used three coats each of chalk paint and polyurethane. My average sized kitchen took about 2 quarts of chalk paint (buy 3 just in case!) and one of polyurethane.
