I purchased this large fountain for use indoors. Some reviews said it does spray a little bit of water outside its boundaries, others thought you could regulate and slow it down, others were not sure, and most place it outdoors. When I got it, I almost sent it back. It was even more beautiful and robust than I thought, and I love the way it forms sheets of water down its spillways. Yes, it does have a way to regulate the water flow, but the lowest setting possible still sprays a few drops all the time it is running. Over time this would be ruining the floor. They were willing to take it back, but my family was attached to it like a kitten that shows up on the door, Please, can't we keep it? I then remembered another large indoor item that usually does not leak, but will make a terrible mess when it does, our clothes washing machine. The solution is a basin of the exact right size to catch all of the spray, or possible accidents and leaks, and that also is available on Amazon for only around $20. after a month, it continues to perform perfectly. A few drops splash out, but they dry long before escaping the basin. do no harm to the Astro-turf, and we never have a problem.
