Exceeded expectations great bang for the buck!!!
So...The cord that came with my Samsung Galaxy Note 5 had reached the end of its "tour of duty". It served with honor and will be greatly missed. It was time for a new charging cable. I searched Amazon and came across this set of cables...When I saw the price for two 6 foot cables I was instantly skeptical. Believing firmly in the concept of getting what you pay for I ordered with trepidation. Shipping was much faster than anticipated. They arrived almost a week ahead of the projected arrival date.
Once I opened the packaging I was pleasantly surprised...In fact I think the phone and tablet manufacturers should take note of these cables because for what you pay for a flagship phone (all of a thousand dollars in some cases) this is the type of cord that should be shipping with these devices. Each end is of sturdy construction with a nice rubber collar behind the end to support the cord's connection to its end. Normally the connection between the cord itself and its connector is kinda' the weak point of most charging cables...But in this case I don't think that will be the case.
Each cord comes with a hook and loop cord keeper (that's Velcro for you mere mortals) The cord itself is shielded in a braided cover. Now whether or not there is rubber or plastic under this braided outer layer I don't know, but if the rest of the construction is any indication I can safely assume that would be the case.
Now I want to address something I've see in other reviews. YES this cord does support "Fast Charging"...But unless you know what that means it can be a little bit confusing to those who aren't super tech savvy. Let me try and dispel some of the confusion. Some devices support what's commonly referred to as "Fast Charging" for example my Samsung Galaxy Note 5. When Fast Charging is engaged my phone can go from 0% to 100% in an 1 Hour and 20 Minutes (give or take) Now when my device isn't in fast charging mode...It can 2 or 3 hours (again give or take) to reach full charge. If your device doesn't already support "Fast Charge" or "Quick Charge' (or what ever your manufacturer has branded their version of fast charging); then this cord WILL NOT charge your device any faster than it would have charged with the power block and cord that your device came with.
In other words if your device was meant to be able to fast charge to begin with and its not fast charging with this cable...then you may have a problem If your device was not meant to fast charge...Then it never will fast charge no matter what cord you plug into it.
Having said all that. I will update this review if my opinion of these cords changes. At this point, I like them so much I may even order another set just to have a couple more on hand.
