I'm sold.
When we got Albus, the shelter told us they had found him and his brother in a dumpster in a parking lot, super sick with parvo. They couldn't tell what they were but were guessing Terrier/Poodle mix. As Albus got older, we seemed pretty sure that he was a Jack Russell mix due to his body type, his ears, and his insanely high energy level. He shed like crazy so we questioned the "Poodle", but his fur definitely resembles that of a poodle. We finally decided to do the DNA test to find out.
The results came back 75% poodle and 25% chihuahua. I was quite uncertain since there was no mention of Jack Russell and I had never even considered chihuahua before (he looks nothing like a chihuahua and is about 16 lbs). After an uncertain post on social media, Mars Veterinary reached out to me and said they could look into it more. A week later, they sent me the longest, most detailed email I've ever seen, explaining every step of the process, every piece of the results, and breaking down Albus's characteristics and how they align with the poodle or Chihuahua (turns out he is a "Deer Head" or "Techichi" chihuahua, different than the more common "Apple head" type). Their response was so informative and helpful, and I'm now convinced. Since finding out, I've also started noticing his more "chihuahua" like features. I've attached a few pictures of him. He's the bigger, poofy white one.
