I bought this jacket because the hood was detachable (I live in San Diego so it does not rain much) I used it tonight when it was 50 degrees out and windy. I was very comfortably warm in this. The jacket seems pretty true to size. I bought a 3xl (my usual shirt size is 3xlt) It seemed to fit really well considering I have very broad shoulders. I think if I were to get a 4xl, it would have been too big.
