Great Product for the price!
I was a bit uncertain that this little guy would work on the room shape of my kitchen and dining room. I was pleased to find out that not only does it do funny shaped rooms, but does them well. Let's break it down: PROS: - Excellent price point. If this is your first iRobot purchase, I highly recommend giving it a try. My Roomba 650 has been going hard now for a couple years with proper maintenance. You are either an iRobot fan, or you aren't. If you are looking to break into the robotic cleaner market, this is it. - Works as advertised. Single pass for dry, double for damp and triple for the mopping. - SUPER quiet in the dry mode, a little more noisy in the Damp mode (due to vibrating cleaning head), and a little more noisy in the Wet Mop mode (still relatively quiet). - Battery life is superb. will run 6+ hours on dry clean, 3-4 on damp and 2+ on mop mode - Comes with 2 Dry pads(White), 2 Damp pads(Orange) and 2 Wet Mop (Blue) pads. The refills for each type come in boxes of 10 for a low cost of $7.99 a box. (recommend getting a box of orange pads and it seems those are the ones I use most often in my house). CONS: - The Damp and Mop pads (orange for Damp and blue for Mop respectively) come treated with a fresh scent floor cleaner. Can definitely leave the floor streaky. My recommendation would be once a week to Mop or Damp clean, then run the Dry over the floor once it is dry. - Ties in with the above con: Cannot use your own floor cleaning solution. - The pathing algorithm tied to the sensors will leave this little fellow confused about where he is at times. If too many things protrude out from your walls low enough for this guy to bump into, he can and will get fed up and reset his path. Found this to be true when edge cleaning is being done. Not necessarily the primary cleaning function back and forth across the floor. - The Damp and Wet cleaning pads tend to bunch up about half way through the cleaning process. This can effectively cut the edge cleaning out of the question if the corners of the pad get folded. Final Verdict: The Braava Jet 240 is a wonderful addition to my robot cleaning crew. Just today I went home at lunch, slapped a damp cleaning pad into him and set him loose on the kitchen and dining room. Was done before I had to leave back to work. (1 hour) As I stated earlier, if you have been on the fence or have never considered getting a robot cleaning pal, this would be a great starting point. This will either make you a believer or completely condemn the idea of letting a robot maintain your home. But after spending a week with this guy so far, he has been fantastic.
