Not perfect, but a really great tool
I'm sure every users' experience will likely be a bit different depending on cell coverage, yard/home obstacles etc. In my situation, I get a lot of "dog is away" messages when my dog is in my backyard, but behind the garage. He's a digger, so this means I'm up checking on him often, which is my main complaint. However, when he did escape one day, it was literally a life saver. Normally he heads to a big, nearby field, but this time he crossed the road and went in a completely different direction. Using the GPS view in lost dog mode, we were able to go right to him. I honestly believe he might have been gone for good if not for Link. We live in a rural part of Washington State, with many natural barriers to signals. Even my XM radio cuts out frequently as I drive my neighborhood. So, while I've been frustrated by slow GPS refresh times, and get misreads from time to time, I think it may have a lot to do with where I live. This tool has already paid for itself as far as I'm concerned. I also have used the sound feature to aid in my training to discourage him from digging. When I catch him in the act, a loud "NO!" along with a double click on the sound button really gets his attention. Then I can call him and redirect his attention for positive reinforcement. The light feature is also really handy at night. So, I'm not sure if the imperfections are technological or geographical, but I'm a fan nonetheless.
