These grinders are awesome. I put sea salt in and it came out as fine as powder! They are made of a heavy glass, that even dropping may not break them (except on stone or ceramic flooring). The fittings are all tight and solid and the brushed stainless is very modern and attractive. The caps don't fall off while grinding, so if you want to grind a quantity and then use a pinch here or there, you can retrieve it right from the cap instead of grinding for every pinch while cooking or if you want to grind a different spice in the jar. There is even a recipe using several spices included on the instruction card! These are well packaged for shipping in recyclable materials (plastic sleeves/cardboard box). The package was received as promised in shipping details. They will fit in beautifully in my newly renovated kitchen and would make a lovely housewarming or other special occasion gift.
