Good info with great visuals
This book offers practical info for adults as well as teenagers, especially for first-time homeowners. Helpful information includes how to turn off the main water line in your house, as well as how to troubleshoot problems with your water heater and furnace, as well as how to use a fire extinguisher. Best of all are the great visuals, which illustrate many tips. There are diagrams of different degrees of a banana's ripeness, and different types of kitchen knives. The diagram of the pre-frontal cortex from ages 9-20 offers a solid illustration of why a young adult isn't fully an adult until about 25 or so. This is a great book to read with a teenager, then go do together whatever the practical skill is that is being discussed.
