This is the fourth Dremel moto-tool replacement in fifty plus years of hobby tinkering. Dremel's latest model is much larger then the last. The physical size will be an issue for certain uses, mainly the nose and overall diameter of the motor housing. The cord is no longer a self coiling type, which is ok, but the cord is pre-kinked due to cheap wire and how it is packaged at the factory. It will not straighten out. The new speed control is semi-protected thus preventing accidental speed changes (nice improvement) also the speed control is separate from the on-off switch, also an improvement I think. Motor seems to have more torque but this may be because the tool it's replacing is worn out. This kit is packed with useful goodies and some "fluff". The new light system operates on batteries not 110VAC and it can be removed from the chuck area. Overall satisfied with the quality and value, make sure to run the motor for a few minutes without a load, to seat the brushes.
