Okay, I am older (57) overweight (5'5", 178 lb) and wear a 40-42 D/DD bra. And let's just say, "the girls" don't exactly stand at attention (pretty much the opposite). So, I can't wear the items that don't "lift"/support and have it look at all good. I wanted something I could wear under a tank top, that would have cute straps (since I could expect them to show) for a trip to the beach. Wanted something that would be thick enough to not look...see-through-ish (Did I mention I am older?) It has really decent support (gave me back my cleavage!) but does have some padding...I actually like it. Some people wouldn't, but I find it comfortable & attractive. Haven't gotten to the beach yet, but was outside all day in this w/tank top, got alternated rained on & Sun-baked. It worked great & didn't rub or anything when it got wet.
