First off, buy your Tamron lens from an authorized reseller to get the 6-year warranty coverage. Look for the shiny stamp on the box and it should say "... Authorized Dealer". I gave this 5 stars because it functions as advertised. This lens extends for zoom and it is a little bit stiff, maybe because it is brand new. VC works and is quiet. This lens is really good as it is touted -all-in-one lens. From macro, wide angle to zoom, the pictures are crisp and vibrant. Bokeh is fairly decent, too. One noticeable cons for this lens is the chromatic aberration or color fringing. The magenta tint is prominent especially on bright shots on all ranges. But this is easily fixed from your software. More effort is needed for indoor and night shots (3.5 - 6.3). Note that this is not for your professional award-winning shots. This is best for travel or everyday photography. Please do not compare this to your expensive Canon L or prime lenses, enough of that. I have some, too. I bought this to enjoy taking pictures of people, places, things, animals, family and friends, and not pixel-peek nor dissect its technical aspects. Cost-effective, sharp, VC, and excellent range - I say this is a keeper.
