Positive review for this little air pump that is relatively quiet and it is adjustable. I would recommend one use a gang valve. Choose one with more connection than you need. Turn the knob on full, use the gang valve to adjust your amount of air. This way, you will avoid damaging your air pumps. One of the most asked question is "is it silent?". No, this is not silent, there is a slight buzz/hum, however your want to call it. No air pump is completely silent. Don't fall for the marketing hype. It depends on a lot of variables; how good your hearing is, where the pump is located, what it is located on, the environment of the room, size of pump, age of pump, etc. UPDATE 11/12/13: The pump died within the last few days. Today I noticed no air in the tank. Very faint sound in the unit when I put my ear to it, I took apart the housing to check. The diaphragm is fine but the motor that causes the magnet to move the diaphragm is gone. So this pump lasted me roughly a little over a year (14 months). Not sure if that is reasonable or not. I generally do not utilize air pumps. Originally gave 5 STARS, updated to 4 STARS for now until I have more data on general. For the low price of ~$10 paid and the length of use, it's not bad. Ideally, I wish I could select 3 1/2 STARS. I will say that the output has been gradually weaker over time. I don't completely lay the blame on the pump though, it's been pushing air through the same bubble wand for the entire period and with minimum cleaning of the wand. I am planning to try a different brand as replacement. Will update which brand/model I settle with. UPDATE 1/19/15: Long overdue update. I had to search in my email folder for the dates and here is the info, back in Dec 13', I emailed the company asking about warranty because I found that it is warrantied for 3 years. In late Jan 14', company emailed me back with procedure for warranty coverage. I sent in the broken pump and about Feb or Mar 14' I received back a replacement pump. The communication and replacement was not fast but the company did follow through replacing my pump with no problems. As of this posting date, replacement pump is still working, and has been running a sponge filter for a little under a year.
