what a waste of money that was
After purchasing 4 different floor steamers within 6 years, I was reticent in purchasing another steamer for my wood floors. I've also purchased 2 spin mops....what a waste of money that was. Anyway, I decided to purchase this O-Cedar Microfiber Steam Mop after reading many of the reviews posted. While I have only used this machine twice, I noticed a few positive things that are so much more convenient than the other steamer I had used for about 2 years. One, it stands upright, and doesn't need to have a stand or lean against something to be in place. And, two, the microfiber pad attaches so much better than my other steamer which was a nightmare in that it shrank after washing and couldn't completely wrap around the base; that alone was well worth the cost of this machine. Three, the steam output of my other steamer was mediocre in comparison to this machine, and it is a continuous steam, unlike the other steamer which kept going in and out of steam; however, I don't know for certain if this machine's steam output reaches 212 degrees Fahrenheit, but it seems to be sufficient enough for me.
This machine has a few things which could be improved on. The swivel base is both a positive and a negative. Positive: I love the triangular swival base which makes it convenient to reach corners and tight spots; especially, the toilet base/floor, and baseboard. Negative: There is a cracking sound whenever the base/base handle is misaligned/upward, especially when in tight spaces or corners. There should be a visible water reservoir on the outside of the handle so that the user could see where the water level is.
I'll try to update on this machine's efficiency or lack of efficiency after 6 months of use.
