It'll Do, Could Be Better, But Does What It Does Well
Only for paper-flat documents.
What you get is a pre-assembled wood frame, cardboard backer (corrugated, like that of a typical shipping box), and a flexible plastic window. Comes with mounting hardware too but I just used stretch-to-remove adhesive strips (I can't "modify" my wall, renting right now). To remove the window and backer, there are metal tabs you need to bend, three on each short side, four for the longer ones. Then you poke the window from one side to pop it out. Cardboard backer is standard cardboard color (natural brown) so unless your object-to-be-framed fills in the entire space, you're going to need to apply a white or other colored overlay on top of the backer (I simply taped several sheets of white paper together). I personally wish the tabs were replaced with the traditional swivel tabs because in my experience, when I placed the backer into place, the tabs stabbed into the backer. Didn't show on the important side but an unusual problem and annoying one for a frame. Before placing the backer however, do remove the film cover on the plastic window, one on each side. Hard to grab unless you have long nails but easy to peel when you get a grip on it.
Once hung, it really looks like a more high quality frame, not that this isn't one, the finish is quite nice and matte, the window looks like glass definitely. The experience was just a little difficult.
Until I can find a better frame, this is good for one on a budget. Perfect for posters.
