I ordered the test kit when I spotted black mold in the kids' bathroom. Before buying I did a little research and found that a lot of the other test kits simply tell you whether mold is present but not what type it is and whether it is dangerous. If the mold is toxic, this test will identify it. Once the initial test showed the mold was Aspi/Pen, a toxic mold, I used the additional enclosed test swabs and mailer to sample some dust in the bathroom and send it to the lab. Testing the dust indicates whether there is mold in the air. The results came by email in a few days and showed that the dust also contained Aspi/Pen and that it was, therefore, likely airborne. I am going to clean the infested area when I get home tonight and put an air cleaner in the kid's bathroom to remove the mold from the air.
