I am a licensed hair stylist and am very conscious of heat damage, especially on highlighted hair, which all three of my teen daughters have. I was skeptical, but because they all want to curl their hair EVERY DAY, it was worth the try. It works best on thick hair when it is almost totally dry, just barely damp - with a light squirt bottle. Fine hair can be a bit wetter. If you twist hair slightly while winding, it will have a corkscrew effect. If you wind it flat, with space between the hair, it is a loose beach wave. It's nice to have variety. We've noticed the curls stay better through the day (and through dance practice and sweaty walks home) than with an iron. This is a life saver, not only for busy mornings before school, but for long term hair integrity. It's decently comfortable to sleep in and even my 11 year old can put it in by herself. Simple, easy, awesome. I'm ordering another.
