As a case, this cover works very well to protect the iPad Mini while it's laying around the house, hanging out in your purse or backpack, or being held in the hand and used. The materials feel fairly sturdy, and the seams all appear to be put together very well. The stylus loop holds up very well, as does the elastic strap for securing the cover. As a cover or carrying case, it's a great deal. As a stand, however, it's fair. If you're going to be using this stand on a hard surface that won't be moved, and not touching the screen during use, then this will usually work well enough for you. If, however, you're wanting a stand that can be held on your lap, or that you can use to hold the iPad up while you're interacting with the touchscreen, you'll want to look elsewhere. As with most soft cases that double as stands, this one doesn't hold the iPad securely in either landscape or portrait, and any slight movement will cause the iPad to fall flat. The same will happen if you interact with the touchscreen while using it as a stand, even if the surface it sits on is flat, sturdy, and unmoving.
