A very good starter airbrush and compressor for the beginner at a bargain price.
I ordered this airbrush package to start out with painting Gundam models, and after completing my first true painted model (check out details at [...] if you're interested) I'm very, very satisfied with this airbrush.
I'm big on the bad before the good, so negative points:
-There's no real guide to disassemble and clean, nor does it include any kind of cleaning or upkeep info in the guide
-There's no travel adjust on the outside of the brush; you have to unscrew the back part and adjust a little stopper screw on the guide rod
-The compressor doesn't really give a good indicator of psi - you kinda have to adjust by eyeballing the spray, which isn't really great if you care about psi
-No quick-disconnect, gotta unscrew the brush from the line (not huge, but still)
The positive notes:
-Easy to clean! You can soak this bad boy in 91% isopropyl alcohol and with a little bit of toothbrushing or even just a Q-tip, used paint comes off of everything. Pull back the needle, swirl an isopropyl-soaked Q-tip inside the nozzle, and it's ready to go.
-Stable and usable even down to about 25 degrees ambient temperature
-Smooth double action gives visible differences in paint injected into the spray
This may not be the last airbrush you'll ever buy, but you could do a LOT worse - and pay a LOT more - for your first.
