I was VERY nervous about our first female dog going into heat (we have only had male dogs thus far). I had NOOOO idea what to expect and how to handle it. I did a ton of research and decided to give these a try. LUCKILY, I purchased them when I did because she started her first heat cycle a few days later. We bought the largest ones and they seem to fit perfectly. She was annoyed at first but luckily, couldn't figure out how to remove it. I will say this, we remove it every time she needs to go to the bathroom. I can't IMAGINE her poop would ever fall out of the hole because it fits snug around her tail. There is padding on the inside, but I actually put regular (human) panty liners in it so I don't have to wash them as frequently. See pics. The velcro option across the top of it allows room for her to grow. I tested out how much liquid it can absorb by stretching the diaper across a dry bowl. I poured 2 cups of water into the diaper to see how much it can hold without leaking. The pad soaked up approximately 1 cup and it began to puddle in the diaper after that. However! Not a single drop leaked through and I was thoroughly impressed. You can see in the photos that I posted, that the bowl is still dry underneath. So far, so good! This is a massive win in my book and I feel MUCH better knowing we have these! I hope this review helps! <3
