Karen McQuestion has done it again! The Long Way Home is a truly new take on the ever so done road trip book. I am always hesitant to read a road trip plot based book, because I feel like for the most part I have read them all before, although this road trip is much needed for these ladies and there is some self discovery involved.. you will not find anything cheesy. I loved each and every character. They each had qualities in them that were truly endearing and they also had qualities that made you groan and roll your eyes. However, they complimented each other well, there wasn't one person who you strongly disliked or who was going to cause a huge rift, that would create to awkward dramatic lull in the story. I must say though what is better than the story itself is McQuestion's talent to write realistically. Something I have always respected about her writing. There were moments when I would say out loud " oh my god, that is something I would Do!" or say, or think... So, this why I cannot say it enough, go read The Long Way Home and all other books by Karen McQuestion. PS I like this book so much, it is hard for me to even properly tell you how awesome it is.
