Ordered 4 different monoscopes. The Roxant is the winner.
I actually purchased 4 different monoscopes when I ordered the Roxant 6 x 30 wide lens. In addition to that, I ordered a Polaris 10x50, a Carson 6x18 and a MiluoTech 16x52. I planned on using the scope for several reasons. 1) Bird watching to get a better look at the species that are checking out our bird feeder. 2) To be able to look down into the pasture and see where the goats are. 3) To look out and see boats and/or whales in Puget Sound.
The Polaris is nice as it has a larger zoom factor, but I do find it always a tad bit soft in focus. The MiluoTech is was blurry and worthless and is going back. The little Carson is a nice little scope, but I am probably giving it to a friend because of the Roxant.
The Roxant is a great scope and it has the same 6x zoom factor as the Carson, so I don't really need the Carson other then it's so small to fit into a pocket when out walking on trails with wildlife around. The bumps on the Roxant will be great for holding on to it when using the scope while wearing gloves. The bumps seem to be comfortable bare-handed and don't become annoying because they are too sharp or hard. The rubberized feel is just right too. The weight and size is just right for my hands. I wear an X-Small Universal Glove. The instructions are great! The adjustable eyecup is very nice to have. I really like the wider lens with the 6x zoom and the image is so crisp and clear. (The wider lens on this Roxant would be the reason I'm probably giving the Carson away....)
While bird watching, I find I like the Roxant as it allows me to quickly find those fast little birds and watch them move around. Once they actually stay on the bird feeder and don't move, then I switch to the Polaris pre-focused at the feeder so I can achieve the close up details to look the bird up in my bird books.
The price does seem fair and the quality of the build appears to be there. (I don't intend to do any drop tests!)
I am very pleased I chose this scope! This is going to be the scope I reach for most often. Thank you!
