GREAT MACHINE - ONE SMALL FLAW
It was easy to assemble - just have to put the scrub brush on the hose, and screw the brush bracket on. I used this on dog urine - like most people who've recently purchased a small black light flashlight, I discovered to my horror how much my Chihuahua is actually peeing in the house. He seems to like the left side of the hallway. We knew he tinkled here and there - but DANG - what a shock when we saw how much he was using the hallway for his tinkletorium! Enter this little Bissell. I used it for the first time yesterday. It came with a small bottle of the regular carpet cleaning mixture, and obviously, I really need the pet stain and odor formula. But for the first run, it did a great job removing most of the urine. Under blacklight inspection, however, it's clear we need to clean at least one more time, maybe two, to get up all of the urine, which has been there for a few months, sad to say. I do like how easy it is to fill the solution canister, though mine leaked when the lid was replaced - maybe it was a pressure thing - so I had to unscrew the black lid, and didn't tighten it until I was putting it directly into the cleaner. I also think that pre-treating the carpet for tough stains is necessary.
My one complaint about this machine is the brush itself. The bristles are very easy to clean - the lint and animal fur clump in one spot and was easy to remove. HOWEVER, here is the reason that I did not give this Little Green a 5-star rating: under the clear plastic cap on top of the brush, dirt and lint gather - and this plastic cap is NOT removable. After ONE cleaning, I have debris showing under the clear plastic that I am not able to remove. To me - this is a terrible design flaw. WHY doesn't this plastic cap come off so that you can rinse off the debris? I did not read all of the reviews for this product, but I did read several and no one else mentioned this problem, which to me, is a no-brainer. This cap should come off for total cleaning.
